The Ontario District Association of Chapters of SPEBSQSA (Society for the Preservation and Encouragement of Barbershop Singing in America), operating as the Harmonize For Speech Fund holds Federal Registration number 88923 2443 RR0002. Receipts for taxable purposes are issued to Canadians. This fund was set up in 1977 as the unified service project of the Ontario District Association of Chapters of SPEBSQSA (Society for the Preservation and Encouragement of Barbershop Singing in America), commonly known as the Barbershop Harmony Society. It is administered by a Board of Trustees elected by the Ontario District House of Delegates.
Over FOUR AND ONE HALF MILLION DOLLARS have been raised to-date by Ontario Barbershoppers and we are proud of the fact that administration costs average about 3% per year. Prior to 1977, $170,000 had been raised to support Ontario children at Heartspring (formerly the Institute of Logopedics), in Wichita, Kansas. At the end of 1976, the $83,000 remaining in Ontario's Logopedics Fund was "frozen". The House of Delegates has now approved the use of these funds for any project within the mandate as determined by the Board of Trustees.
